Portable Spray Booths, manufactured by Sentry Air Systems, are optimal air filtration solutions for light spray painting, aerosol sprays, and a variety of other processes that emit hazardous paint fumes.
This desktop paint booth is specifically designed to utilize the strengths of an internal spray filter, HEPA filtration, and Activated Carbon filtration to contain hazardous particulate and unwanted odors. It does not require any external venting, which makes it an optimal solution for indoor environments where external venting is not practical or desired.
What is a Portable Spray Booth?
A portable spray booth is a uniquely designed enclosure used to isolate fumes and vapors that are expelled during painting or epoxy applications.
At Sentry Air Systems, our spray booths can be customized to fit your specific application or job. By utilizing a three tiered filtration process, our Portable Spray Booths remove the hazardous fumes from the surrounding environment creating a safe breathing zone for the operator.

Do Portable Spray Booths work against VOCs?
Yes, our application specialists will evaluate your process including the SDS (safety data sheet) for the paints that will be utilized. They can help determine what the optimal filtration should be. In most cases, activated carbon filtration will work, however, we have the ability to impregnate the carbon as well for specialty paints.
Are DIY Portable Spray Booths effective?
DIY Spray Booths can indeed be effective against harmful fumes and overspray if optimally built, however, there is a huge risk associated with not having a professionally made and manufactured Spray Booth for your application.
At Sentry Air Systems, our unit utilizes a three-part filtration system consisting of a MERV 7 pre-filter (for overspray), a HEPA filter (for fine particulate), and an activated carbon filter for odors and VOC's in which is highly efficient and not offered with DIY projects. In addition, our spray hoods or walk-in spray booths can be utilized for HPLV (high-pressure, low velocity spray guns) spraying processes.
Spray Booth Safety Considerations
Safe operation of your spray booth is critical to protecting you, your staff and anyone around it.
- Booth should be visually inspected frequently
- Pedestrian traffic in front of the hood should be limited
- Any bulky equipment should be placed at the rear of the hood
- To allow for airflow, large equipment should be raised at least 2” off the surface
- If your spray booth is used often, a regular cleaning schedule should be established
