Welding and industrial fume extractors

A source capture fume extractor pulls weld, solder or laser fume at the arc or the joint, before it reaches the operator's breathing zone or spreads through the shop. That is a different job from an ambient air cleaner, which filters the room after the fact - and it is why the capture arm and its reach matter as much as the blower.

How to pick one. Three questions decide it. How many operators? One station takes a portable floor unit or a wall mounted extractor; several stations take a multi-operator system with a drop for each. Does the work move? A portable floor unit rolls to the job; a wall or machine mounted extractor frees the floor when the station is fixed. What are you burning? Weld fume, solder flux, laser smoke and chemical vapour each want a different filter media, so tell us the process and the material.
