Senty Air Systems Improves Air Quality With High Efficiency Filtration & Versatile Solutions

Sentry Air Systems portable particle counters offer an ideal advantage of measuring indoor air quality (IAQ) in relation to pinpointing sources of contamination in cleanroom environments and workspaces. This handheld particle counter works by drawing in air through the top of device and utilizes proprietary laser scattering technology to accurately record the quantity and size of particles found in the air sample. When the reading is processed, it is displayed as an easy-to-read format of scientific notation in an optical range of 0.3 μm – 10 μm.

Features

  • Powered by a rechargeable battery or external power supply
  • Long Power Life - Can be used for up to 12 hours with fresh batteries
  • CLEAN Feature - Clears out the air chamber by running the fan on HIGH for 10 seconds.
  • HOLD Feature - Stops the unit from taking continuous measurements to allow the operator to record data.
  • AVERAGE Setting - Take 10 samples in 14 seconds and displays the average particle count readings.
  • UNITS - Ability to change the units from Customary (US) to Metric.
  • Particle Size Setting - Switch display to readings of SMALL and LARGE particles.
    • SMALL - Greater than 0.3 μm per cubic foot or meter
    • LARGE - Greater than 0.5 μm and typical particle size

Why do you need a particle counter?

A particle counter is an essential tool for measuring and monitoring the IAQ in clean rooms, workspaces, and most respirable environments, as it can measure the quantity and size of particles in the immediate area. In most cases (if not all), a particle counter is not used to specifically identify the type of particulate in the air, but can be used to reasonably hypothesize based on the size and number of particulate, and what materials are in the vacinity.

While often overlooked exposure to certain particles can cause various health hazards ranging from:

  • Sneezing
  • Triggering of Allergies
  • Itching or Red Eyes
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Coughing
  • Breath Shortness
  • Asthma
  • Dermatitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Cancer

As many industries that utilize warehouses, cleanrooms, or tools and materials that cause dust particulate have safety regulations put in place to ensure the saftey of their employees, it is imperative to have a particulate counter to measure the working environment as it can cause severe health concerns if not properly maintained.
